English Meaning of Shiv Aarti Lyrics

Oh Shiva, your glory! Omkara, your majesty! Lord Shiva along with Vishnu, Brahma, and all the gods cure my illness! You play the role of the three Gods тАУ Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva тАУ as the Absolute, the True Being, Consciousness, and Bliss. You have four faces of Brahma, one of Vishnu, and five of Shiva. May all who see you be happy. As Brahma, you like to ride on the back of a swan; As Vishnu, you sit on the back of Garuda and as Shiva, you ride on the sacred bull, all these are ready. Oh great Shiva, please remove my sorrow! You have two arms of Brahma, four of Vishnu, and ten of Shiva (Dashabahu), all of which are breathtakingly beautiful. The inhabitants of Tribhuvan are mesmerized just by seeing you. O great Lord Shiva, please remove my sorrow.

You, O great lord, are the rudraksha garland, another skull, and a third forest flower; Your forehead smeared with sandalwood paste and musk, shines in the moonlight that it holds. Please help me to get rid of my illness. O great lord Shiva, your body is clothed in yellow and white robes and tiger skin, and you are accompanied by Brahma, goblin soldiers, and seers like Sanaka. Please help me to get rid of my illness. Thou art in one hand the Akmandalu (the water vessel of the learned) and in the other the trident; May you destroy all miseries, bring happiness to all, and sustain the entire world, O great Lord Shiva, may you cure me of all my ailments! The ignorant may recognize Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva as separate deities, but they are all merged into a single mystical syllable 'Om'. Please help me to get rid of my disease. Swami Sivananda says, "Whoever recites the aarti of this deity of the three Gunas - rajas, sattva, and tamas - gets his heart's desire fulfilled." You, O great Lord Omkara, cure my sufferings.
