I respectfully obeisance to Shambhu (the cause of happiness), who is the primordial being (ever-present as consciousness),
I respectfully obeisance (to Him) who is omniscient and whose state of meditation (symbolizing our inner consciousness) is limitless,
I respectfully obeisance to Rudra who is Lord of all (in the terrifying form associated with destruction) and who is indestructible in nature,
I respectfully bow to Sharva (who holds the entire world); I bow respectfully (again to all these forms).

I respectfully bow to the Divine Lord who resides as the immutable state beyond the human mind,
To the Lord who is embodied as the consort of Goddess Uma and who is the spiritual master of the entire world, I offer my respectful obeisances,
I respectfully bow down to Him who sheds tears over our (inner) poverty (He is present as our most glorious inner being),
(And) I respectfully bow down to Him who removes our disease (Samsara) (by revealing His glorious nature).

I respectfully bow (to Him) who is the cause of all goodness, (always present at the back of the mind) in His inconceivable form,
I respectfully bow down (to him) whose form is like the seed that gives birth to the universe,
I respectfully bow to Him who is also the cause of the maintenance of the universe,
(And) I respectfully bow down (to him) who is (ultimately) the destroyer (of the universe).

I respectfully bow to Him who is beloved of Gauri (Goddess Parvati) and irreplaceable (also implies that Shiva and Shakti are inseparably connected),
I respectfully bow to Him who is eternal and who is imperishable behind all destruction,
I offer my obeisances (to him) who is of the nature of consciousness and whose meditative state (the symbol of all-pervading consciousness) is immeasurable,
To the Lord who has three eyes, I offer my obeisances.

I respectfully bow down (to Him) who is the fountain of mercy (to the good) in the world,
Also, he who creates fear (in the hearts of the wicked); To that Lord, I respectfully bow,

I respectfully bow to Him who is beyond (perceived by the senses) the three forms (of Brahma, Vishnu, and Sankara).
I respectfully obeisance (to Him) who is auspicious (Prakriti) beyond reality and unreality (phenomenal world).
I bow to him with reverence; I respectfully bow to Him who removes sins (when the heart is surrendered to Him in meditation).

To Him who is always engaged in the welfare of the world, I offer my respectful obeisances,
I respectfully bow (to him) who assumes many forms (for the welfare of the world),
Who are the preserver of the world and the transitory and eternal (results of actions),
To Him, I respectfully bow; I bow respectfully to the Lord of the world.

To the Lord who is truly the Lord of sacrifices, to whom all oblations ultimately go,
Likewise, in the form, Sadasiva is the last refuge of the world,
(And) He who gives everything when worshipped.
(To that Lord) I respectfully obeisance, who loves to bestow boons (on his devotees) and who is my Ishtadev (chosen deity).

To the wife of Uma who is the best of the gods, I bow in reverence.
