Baglamukhi Mata, an embodiment of Tamas, is the most powerful divine spirit of the Dasa Mahavidya. She is omnipotent due to the equal coexistence of the three qualities - Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. She also known as  Pitambara Devi, Shatrubuddhivinashini, Kalyani, and Brahmastra Roopini, transforms everything into its polar opposite.

"Baglamukhi" is a combination of the Sanskrit words "Bagala" - a variant of "Valg" and "Mukha," which means "bridle" and "face," including both.
